I am in love with the way things feel and how this allows me to inhabit myself and the world more fully.
An educator and Feldenkrais practitioner, I am fascinated by the overlapping of wellbeing, pain and creative expression; in particular, how the presence of adverse experiences does not always exclude wellbeing or expression; rather can influence personal and collective agency.
In addition to being a Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, I have a Master of Arts in Music Performance as well as certification in Adult Education (English as an Additional Language - EAL).
As a cellist I have worked with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and taught Cello and EAL at Monash University. My interest in yoga, social justice and Tibetan Buddhism took me to India where I was a volunteer EAL teacher to former political prisoners from Tibet at Gu Chu Sum Movement Association of Tibet in Dharamsala.
The somatic element of movement and contemplative practices began to captivate me, particularly in the way it relates to personal agency and in 2015 I graduated from the Feldenkrais Professional Training Program in Melbourne.
Initially I began practising to untangle and transform my own chronic pain condition sustained during my music career. I wanted to restore lost functions and personal capacity and now run an online and in person Feldenkrais practice from the Fraser Coast Queensland.
I’m able to offer my expertise to musicians, contemplatives and those in pain given my own professional and personal history.
I am also certified in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness as it applies to the Feldenkrais Method and practise Contemplative Photography as a way to appreciate everyday moments and document shifts in perception.
Teaching and learning is where I am home.
